Solenoid Valves

Solenoid valves are available in a range of body materials to suit the application media, pressure and environmental conditions. For example general purpose air or water applications a low cost Brass solenoid valve is fine but drinking water and vending water applications typically require low cost Nylon solenoid valve ideally with WRAS approval. Bronze solenoid valves are better suited for Steam and Sea Water applications where as Aluminium solenoid valves are very popular in the Pneumatics and Gas Control Industries. Stainless steel solenoid valves are typically in the  Petrochemical, Oil and Gas and predominately found the Food Industry where corrosive cleaning chemicals are used. Applications for special purpose plastic solenoid valves with dry armature or isolated diaphragm design (i.e. media only in contact with body + seal material) include PVC, PP, PVDF and PTFE and are suitable for very aggressive media applications in chemical dosing and other acid and alkali control systems. POM or Delrin solenoid valves are not available with this option of isolation and are therefore less expensive by design however they are ideally suited for RO (Reverse Osmosis) and Pure Water systems as there is no brass or copper content in them.
