Pressure Reducing Valves - Micro Pressure - Direct Acting

Micro Pressure Reducing Valve REMT

Micro (PRV) Pressure Reducing valves are designed to reduce, protect and automatically maintain very low pre-set outlet pressure with extreme accuracy. For example the REMT (threaded) or REFT (Flanged) series Micro Pressure Reducing Valve series offers direct and highly accurate pressure reducing capabilities. This pressure reducing valve utilises the relation of pressure to force according to surface area , i.e. the more surface area you have the higher the forces generated by any applied pressure, which is ideal when controlling very low pressure differences thus this highly sensitive low pressure reducing valve is fitted with a very large extended and highly sensitive diaphragm which enables this valve to accurately reduce and maintain pre-set outlet pressures from 0.2 to 0.02 bar (3 psi to 0.3 psi), with an inlet pressure up to 5 bar. For example if looking to have an automated outlet control 0.5 psi to within 0.001 psi, then the pressure difference of 0.001 psi exerted is 0.001pounds per square inch, therefore the more square inches the higher the measurable force so 10 square inches of diaphragm would yield 0.01 lbs of measurable force or 100 square inches would yield 0.1 lbs of measurable force. Now using the theory area of a circle A = πx r² (where π is 22/7 and R is radius) then the applied area increases by 9.9 units for every 1 unit increase of radius.

This micro pressure reducing valve is made entirely from 316 Stainless Steel, suitable for most water, oil or fluid applications and is ideally suited to chemical and food processing applications in corrosive or aggressive environments. The adjustment screw at the base of this pressure reducing valve can be manually screwed in (clockwise) to increase the outlet pressure and unscrewed (anti clockwise) to reduce the outlet pressure.

These direct acting micro low pressure stainless steel pressure reducing valves do not reply on system pressure differentials as the controlling piston are directly connected making this design ideally suited to maintaining very accurate downstream (outlet side) pressures regardless of downstream demand or upstream (Inlet side) pressure fluctuations, making the REMT and REMF an ultra sensitive pressure reducing valve. These are an ideal choice when protecting delicate sensitive systems or in semi conductor, pharmaceutical applications where ultra low pressure must be accurately maintained between 0.2 to 0.02 bar.

With a pressure spring balanced diaphragm pressure reducing system the internal spring can be easily changed to control different low pressure ranges according to most application requirements. However we always recommend consulting the pressure reducing valve manufacturers for any special application or media applications.

This low pressure reducing valve is not certified and therefore cannot be used for natural gas applications.
