Saturated Steam Pressure, Temperature, Density and Thermal Capacity Tables.

Steam (vaporised hot water) occurs normally around 100 °C at sea level (normal Atmospheric pressure) much like your kettle at home for instance. But if you pressurise the system then the water will boil at a higher temperature generally in line with the pressures involved, i.e. the higher the pressure the higher the boiling point. The opposite is also true, if you generate a vacuum water can boil at low ambient temperatures too. 

Steam solenoid valves are designed to work with the high temperatures of steam, but sometimes users do not know the temperature of steam or the pressure of the steam being controlled, so the table below gives a general guide.

 

Helpful hint: 10 bar steam is 184.5º C (see below table), very important point when buying a steam solenoid valve.
